TL;DR: I want to mentor people who are under-represented in the tech-adjacent podcast world. If you have a show of your own and want some guidance, please read on.
The tech-adjacent/focussed podcasting community features predominantly white, male voices – and this is something that needs to change, to continue to encourage inclusivity and diversity.
A Podcasting Mentorship is something I can provide that would be of value, both to share knowledge and provide ongoing support and guidance to new voices in the community.
My background is in conversational style podcasting, so I feel I can add most value there — but I welcome ideas of all kinds.
For this second group of mentees, I am looking specifically for people who have already started a show of their own, which is currently publishing episodes.
This programme will include:
Group calls with all mentees, myself and occasional guests – to offer guidance and support on areas that you need help on.
Access to a group Discord among all mentees to offer an avenue for ongoing guidance and ad-hoc support from myself and others.
Feedback and advice on the challenges of working on your creative project
Financial assistance for hosting fees and/or necessary equipment upgrades.
This programme is intended to assist people who are not like me. If you are a straight, white man — please do not apply – the goal is to increase the variety of voices.
I particularly encourage women and members of BIPOC, AAPI/API, or LGBTQIA+ communities to apply.
